experience matters. yep. because you can spot the special and the unique, tell the difference between the worth it and the not so much. discover your inspiration below. you have the experience to know just what you like.
you know that very few things in life are truly exceptional. we hope you find some of those exceptional items and experiences here.
Lingua Franca
You have to love a brand whose motto is “give a damn,” That’s Lingua Franca, whose sweaters are hand knit by women in New York City and has given over a million dollars to 200 charities. A fun gift that can even be personalised, a Lingua Franca sweater might say something like “I read banned books,” or (my personal favorite) “tits up.” Check then out here.
Abighal Ahearn
Holiday florals have more to offer than just poinsettias and eucalyptus. So proves Abigail Ahearn, who designs dreamy dried flowers unlike you will see elsewhere. Her flowers are nor so much “pretty” as they are dramatic. See for yourself here.
Bonnie B. Cooke
Self-described “cowgirl” Bonnie B. Cooke also is pretty talented at showing off a dress! These beautiful paintings are perfect for a dressing room or powder room. Or anywhere really. See her work here.
“we don’t need brands to guide us. we need brands to gratify us.”
Remote Volunteering
When you are over 40, you very well may have an elder in your life who wants to contribute through volunteering or you may be that elder! But if you are not up to hiking through the woods to clean up trash, there are lots of remote volunteer opportunities out there. I have looked at this issue extensively for my own mom and I have to give credit to Good Housekeeping Magazine — they have created the most extensive and diverse list of interesting volunteer jobs I have seen.
